As the weather starts to get colder, we’re less inclined to head outside and get some exercise. However, being too sedentary can lead to back and neck pain, especially if you don’t have the best posture.
How to Prevent Back & Neck Pain
Sometimes all it takes is a few simple lifestyle changes in order to never have back and neck pain this season.
- Get plenty of exercise! Even if it’s cold and wet outside, now is the time to stay motivated and get at least 30 minutes of exercise 3-4 times a week. If you’re not at all interested in getting outside, there are plenty of exercise programs that allow you to get your heart rate up from the comfort of your own living room.
- Be conscious about your posture at work or at home. Millions of Americans suffer from back or neck pain as a result of poor posture while sitting at their desks at work or at home. Keep a reminder post-it note at your computer that says to sit up — your body will thank you for the relief. Oftentimes poor posture can result in a trip to the chiropractor in order to relieve muscle tension.
- See a chiropractor on a regular basis. At Danubio Chiropractic Offices, we’re here to help you stay healthy by providing gentle yet effective chiropractic adjustments. For new patients, Dr. Danubio will first ask you about your past medical history in order to determine any pre-existing cause of back and neck pain. Next, you will have a chiropractic evaluation which helps Dr. Danubio pinpoint where all of your muscle imbalances are.
